The reef is a very important ecosystem for our beautiful island and country. In order to create awareness and help preserve it, every year Reef Week is celebrated in honor of our natural heritage. The Hol Chan Marine Reserve has a week full of activities which will take place from May 10 – 17, 2014 under the theme "Our Reef Needs Our Protection for Future Generations".

It is with deep regret and sincere sorrow that we learned the passing of Stephen Manuel known to most people locally and internationally as Papi Box today Friday, April 11, 2014. Papi came to San Pedro as a young child and lived his entire life in San Pedro.

Ambergris Today expresses sincere condolences to the family of the late Frederick Cassian Waight, "Captain Freddie" of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, who passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the San Pedro Roman Catholic Church on Ambergris Caye, Belize at 10:00 a.m. immediately followed by a memorial on the beach.
